The wait is finally over as Ayan Mukerji took to his Instagram and shared a major update on the upcoming parts of his hit film, Brahmastra. The first part starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt was released in September last year. Now, months after the release of the first part, Ayan has shared an important update on Brahmastra 2 and confirmed part 3.
Ayan shares update on Brahmastra 2 and 3
Ayan penned a note and promised fans that the upcoming parts will be ‘bigger and more ambitious than part one’. The filmmaker added that he will be making the two films together. As revealed by Ayan, the second part will release in December 2026 and part three will release in December 2027.
A part of his note read, “After absorbing all the love and the feedback on Part One… I have been focused on creating the vision for Part Two and Part Three – which I now know will be bigger and ambitious than Part One! I have learnt that we need a little more time to perfect the script of Brahmastra Two and Three! And… I have decided that we are going to make the two films…. Together!”
Furthermore, Ayan revealed he will be working on a ‘very special movie’ for now which is equally ‘challenging’. He shared, “The Universe has presented me with a very special opportunity recently – a very special movie – to step into and direct!” Ayan added that he will reveal more details when the ‘time is right’.
Who will play Dev?
According to multiple reports, Hrithik Roshan will play Dev in part two. Earlier, Hrithik was asked about his rumoured casting and he told PTI, “What is happening? Nothing is happening. Next Fighter will start and then there is potential for others to be made, (including) the ones you spoke of. Fingers crossed.”
Ranveer Singh is also rumoured to play Dev. However, nothing is confirmed yet.
Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva was a huge success. The Ayan Mukerji directorial collected Rs 431 crore worldwide. Apart from Ranbir and Alia, the first part also starred Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Shah Rukh Khan, and Mouni Roy.
