Ayushmann Khurrana Tahira Kashyap

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana recently opened up about relationships, fame and personal growth during a candid conversation while promoting Pati Patni Aur Woh Do. The actor reflected on how success at a young age briefly changed his behaviour and admitted that he once broke up with his longtime partner, Tahira Kashyap, after winning MTV Roadies. Ayushmann, who now calls himself a “green flag husband,” said he was not always emotionally mature in his younger years.

The actor appeared on comedian Raunaq Rajani’s YouTube channel alongside co-stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan. During the discussion, he recalled how fame affected him when he was just 20 years old.

Speaking about his breakup with Tahira, Ayushmann said, “I have gone through a similar situation. I was 20 at that time. I said the same things to my girlfriend, who is now my wife. She started laughing and asked me, ‘What has happened to you?’ I had just won Roadies, but in my head, I was the most popular guy in Chandigarh.”

He further added, “I broke up with her for a while to focus on myself. I was like, ‘I don’t have time for relationships. I have to invest time in myself.’”

Ayushmann also joked about how men emotionally evolve with age. Reflecting on his own journey, he said, “Men have this deep tendency of starting off as a huge red flag and then suddenly becoming a green flag by the time they are in their mid-30s. I think it’s a journey we all take. I think I am a green flag now.”

However, the breakup did not last long. Around six months later, Ayushmann realised his mistake and reconciled with Tahira. The couple later got married when he was 24. By the time he made his Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor, he had already become a father.

During the same conversation, Ayushmann also made a surprising revelation connected to Vicky Donor, the film that revolved around sperm donation. Joking about his preparation for the role, he said, “Even before starting Vicky Donor, I was already a father. I took method acting a bit too seriously.”

He then revealed that he had actually donated sperm during a task on MTV Roadies. He shared, “I have donated sperm for real. It was part of a Roadies task. They used to check our sperm count. I was just 20 then. Nothing was shown on screen; only the results were revealed. And I won the task.”

His revelation visibly shocked his co-stars. Sara Ali Khan reacted with surprise, while Rakul Preet Singh responded by saying, “You donated sperm, and then you did Vicky Donor?”

On the work front, Ayushmann Khurrana will next appear in director Sooraj Barjatya’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya, where he stars opposite Sharvari. He is also part of Dharma Productions’ Udta Teer, co-starring Sara Ali Khan.
