Baba Ramdev

We really underestimated this man. From being a yoga guru to a Bhajan reality show judge, it is now turn for Baba Ramdev to step into Bollywood! Lom Harsh’s upcoming patriotic film ‘Yeh Hai India’ will feature him in the song ‘Saiyan Saiyan’, crooned by Javed Ali.

“When Babaji was told about the film he came on-board as it is of national interest. After a screening, he said it felt like the film reflected the soul of India,” Sandeep Choudhary, producer of the film, told Mumbai Mirror.

“The country that has a population of millions, a country where Vedas were discovered; few people around the world have a wrong perspective about this country. India is no more (just) a country of snake (charmers), it has advanced.”

“India has the capability to lead the entire world. This change in the picture of India has been showcased in the film ‘Yeh Hai India’. Hence after a lot of thinking I’ve taken a decision to strongly support this film and I also expect every citizen of India to support such films,” the yoga guru said, in  a statement. He isn’t charging any money for the film either. (Also Read: ‘Yeh Hai India’: ‘Piya Bin’ by Javed Ali is a soulful track)

“I’m really thankful to Babaji who’s lent his full fledged support to my film. We couldn’t have any better public ambassador for our film,” the director said.

We heard Ramdev was also approached for Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar’s ‘Toilet – Ek Prem Katha’ but refused to come on-board. It would be indeed interesting to see him as an actor! The movie is going to hit the screens this Friday, on August 11.

Starring Gavie Chahal and Deana Uppal, ‘Yeh Hai India’ is set to release sometime this year. The story is of a young man who has been brought up in the UK with a typical stereotypical mindset regarding India, and it is when he comes to the country that he discovers the other side, and that is the journey that the movie showcases.
