Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata: Kangana Ranaut Starrer Is Based On Mumbai Hospital Shooting During 26/11 Attack- Report

Actor Kangana Ranaut-led film, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata, is reportedly inspired by the events that took place at Cama and Albless Hospital during the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attacks. In the film, Kangana will portray a nurse, highlighting her role amid the crisis. Marathi actor Girija Oak will also play a significant role alongside Kangana. The film is scheduled to be released later this year.

According to a report by Variety India, Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata will centre on the hospital staff and their bravery during the terror attack. The movie is directed by Manoj Tapadia in his debut venture. The shooting has already been completed, and the film is now in post-production, with a release planned for later this year.

The attack occurred on the night of November 26, 2008, when terrorists barged into the hospital. As reported by PTI in 2018, terrorists Ajmal Kasab and Abu Ismail Khan stormed the hospital, killing guards and injuring staff. Gunfire erupted behind the main six-storey building, prompting the staff to lock various hospital gates after hearing the commotion.

Once inside, Kasab and his accomplice began firing indiscriminately, causing panic among staff, patients, and visitors. A police encounter took place on the hospital’s sixth floor, resulting in the death of two policemen.

Kangana’s Films

Most recently, Kangana appeared in Emergency, where she portrayed the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film was released in theatres on January 17 last year and also featured actors like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik.

Kangana is set to make her Hollywood debut with the lead role in the horror drama Blessed Be the Evil. She stars alongside Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone. Filming is scheduled to begin this summer in New York, directed by Anurag Rudra. The story follows a Christian couple who, after suffering a devastating miscarriage, buy an abandoned farm with a dark history. Their love and faith are soon put to the test by a malevolent force. Additionally, Kangana will star with R. Madhavan in a thriller directed by AL Vijay, produced by R Ravindran of Trident Arts.
