Boney Kapoor REFUTES claims of Janhvi Kapoor being born before his marriage with Sridevi

Sridevi was one of the most loved actresses in Bollywood. She passed away on February 24, 2018, due to accidentally drowning in a bathtub in Dubai. For the first time since Sridevi’s demise, Boney Kapoor has opened up about his late wife’s death, their marriage and and a lot more. In a recent interview, Boney addressed the rumours that Janhvi was born out of wedlock. The filmmaker revealed that Sridevi and his marriage took place in Shirdi in June 1996, and they announced it in January when Sridevi’s pregnancy was visible.

The filmmaker revealed that everyone in his family is religious. Spekaing with YouTuber Yohan Dohan, he said, “My wife Sridevi used to walk to Tirupathi on every birthday of hers. Whenever I was in trouble, she walked from Juhu to Siddhi Vinayak barefoot.”

Addresing the rumour about Janhvi Kapoor, he said, “My second marriage, my marriage with Sridevi took place in Shirdi. We got married on June 2. We exchanged vows, we spent a night there and it was only in January when her pregnancy was seen that we had no choice, but to marry publicly. It took place in Shridi, on June 2. But in public, we were married only in January (1997). That is why some scribes still write she was born before marriage, something like that.”

Boney Kapoor and Sridevi welcomed their daughter Janhvi Kapoor was born on 6^th March, 1997. Their second daughter Khushi was born on 5^th November, 2000. Janhvi made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s film Dhadak in 2018. She has successfully carved a niche for herself in the industry. On the other hand, Khushi will make her big Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies this year.

Coming back to Boney Kapoor, he also opened up about Sridevi’s demise and revealed that she had BP issues due to strict diets. Boney also revealed that he was interrogated for 24-48 hours in Dubai and went through lie detector tests.

Before Sridevi, Boney was married to Mona Shourie Kapoor. They had two children – Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor.
