Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor announce Mr and Mrs Mahi new release date; film to hit theatres in May

Actors Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao have now announced the release date of their upcoming movie, Mr and Mrs Mahi. The movie is all set to release in the theatres in May when ‘love will score a century’. Both actors took to Instagram and dropped a poster, announcing the new release date, May 31, 2024. Though they have not released any new posters, the new release date has got fans excited.

Sharing the poster, Rajkummar and Janhvi wrote, “Love scores a century on May 31st, 2024! MrAndMrsMahi releasing in cinemas!” Fans are eagerly waiting for the film to be released. A fan commented. “Finally Rajkumar Rao drought has ended. Was eagerly waiting for your brilliant performances.” Another one mentioned, “Super duper hit Bro. Aage laga degi faad degi Aap ki acting aur Mahi love u.” One more wrote, “Can’t wait for me and Mrs maahi.”

Mr and Mrs Mahi new release date

Several fans were even wondering if Mr and Mrs Mahi is based on Indian former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is fondly called Mahi. Nevertheless, both Rajkummar and Janhvi will essay the role of cricketers in the movie.

Earlier, in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Janhvi spoke about her injuries during the shoot. She said, “I shot Mr and Mrs Mahi. I think doing that caused quite a bawaal in my life because of my injuries and various other reasons. And it went on for a while and so things kept getting planned and then cancelled and moved around. So, it was changing a lot of things in my life because it was a very intense film to shoot and it was physically demanding. So, me and Sharan who are very close we’d also get into fights and it was just a very hectic time, I think.”

Meanwhile, Mr and Mrs Mahi shoot was completed in May 2023 and the makers announced the release date on April 19, 2024. The reason behind the delay was unknown but it is said that they didn’t want to clash it with Maidaan which was also a sports biography.
