Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the figures.

‘Why Cheat India’ has so far collected only Rs 6.80 crore at the box office on its first weekend. The film deals with the topic of corruption in the education sector and how the whole system is rigged and incompetent. ‘Why Cheat India’ is a good concept, but the execution was not that great. In the film, Emraan Hashmi is seen as the kingpin of an admission racket that involves getting brilliant students to write engineering and management entrance exams for other candidates in exchange for money.

Directed by Soumik Sen, the film was released on the same day with Arshad Warsi‘s ‘Fraud Saiyaan’ and Govinda’s ‘Rangeela Raja’.

The road ahead seems tough for Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Why Cheat India’ as over the upcoming Friday, two films are releasing. We have, Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Manikarnika’ and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s ‘Thackeray’. Emraan has done a good job but this film has failed to deliver.
