After the success of ‘Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva’ in 2022, the Astraverse is moving into its next phase, with Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji reportedly reuniting for the sequel. As per a new report, scripting and pre-production are underway, aiming to expand the mythological universe introduced in the first film. Ranbir Kapoor is expected to complete his work on Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana Part 2’ by January 2027, after which he will begin filming for ‘Brahmastra 2’ around April 2027. Brahmastra 2 Maybe In Works Already?
As reported by Pinkvilla, Alia Bhatt will reprise her role as Isha. Ayan Mukerji is in talks with Deepika Padukone to play the character Amruta. She is anticipated to hold significant importance in the sequel. Scroll down to read more. One of the key challenges for Ranbir Kapoor will be his dual role as Shiva and Dev. He will explore the complex mythology and relationships introduced previously. Ranbir is excited to return to the franchise, embracing the demanding double role that promises a larger canvas for storytelling.
Alia Bhatt’s return as Isha will further deepen the connection within the Astraverse, building on the mythology established earlier. Meanwhile, discussions with Deepika Padukone are ongoing, with the creative team seeking an actor who can bring substantial presence to the character of Amruta.

Regarding their work front, Ranbir Kapoor is currently promoting ‘Ramayana: The Introduction,’ set for release on November 8, 2026. Alia Bhatt was last seen in YRF’s ‘Alpha’ and will appear in Sohum Shah’s Tumbaad 2. She will be sharing screen space with Vicky Kaushal in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love and War.’
