When asked about the completion of Part 1, director Tiwari stated, “We are sorted, the edit is locked. At the moment we are busy giving finishing touches to our VFX work which is a very very daunting task.” “If you see the film, you’ll realise how much hard work has gone into purely getting the VFX in place,” he added.

Ranbir Kapoor Defends ‘Ramayana’ CGI

Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Rama, also addressed the visual effects criticism. He said, “People don’t know how CGI is done. People think that someone just used some AI and released something.” He elaborated, “There are countless hours of work where artists have been working for years. I’ve seen Nitesh sir or Namit sitting on VFX calls ever since this project started. Trying to get even a certain colour of the sky right.” He further commented, “I think it is tricky right now to impress the audience with authentic CGI.”

About The Film

Backed by Malhotra and directed by Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ stars Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The film also features a large ensemble cast with music by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. The epic is planned as a two-part theatrical release, with the first instalment scheduled for November 6, 2026, in international markets and November 8 in India, coinciding with Diwali.
