‘Chhapaak’: Here’s why Deepika Padukone broke down on her first day of shoot

After a long break post her last release ‘Padmaavat’, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for  ‘Chhapaak’ which is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Apparently, the leading lady of Bollywood had broken down while essaying her role on the very first day of the shoot.

Meghna Gulzar’s film ‘Chhapaak’ follows a very emotional plot depicting the brave journey of the acid-attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. It looks like Deepika Padukone is quite affected emotionally by the plot of the film. While talking about the ‘Chennai Express’ actress, a source informed Bollywood Life, “The project is an emotional roller-coaster for Deepika. She broke down on the first day of the shoot. It happened when she was shooting for the first scene and having discussions with the filmmaker. However, Deepika was quick to regain her composure and the shoot proceeded nicely.”

The ‘Chhapaak’ team, who recently started shooting for the film, have already wrapped the first shoot schedule of the film. With this film, Deepika Padukone will also be stepping into the shoes of a producer. The film also stars Vikrant Massey in a pivotal role. Meanwhile, the film is slated to release on 10th January next year.
