B-town celebs congratulate Mary Kom Women’s World Boxing Championships

Boxer Mary Kom has made the entire nation proud once again. The 35-year-old boxer bagged the gold in the 48 kg gold category at the 2018 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in New Delhi. With this gold, Mary has now become the only female boxer to win six boxing world titles!

Mary Kom has now won gold at the World Championships in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. She has also won a silver in 2001. She is also the only Indian female boxer to win a medal at the Olympics.

Soon after her win, congratulatory messages started pouring in for her from B-town celebs. While actress Priyanka Chopra(who played Mary Kom in her biopic) hailed Mary for her big win. Priyanka wrote, “Wow! Only you could do it!! What an achievement… the first female boxer to win the #WorldChampionship for an unprecedented 6th time! Congratulations @MangteC… It’s a proud moment for the nation & you are and always will be my inspiration… Here’s to “#MagnificentMary”

Anushka Sharma called the boxing champion a ‘Wonder Woman’ as she wrote, “Congratulations Champ!! So proud to see you creating history @MangteC you are a wonderwoman !”
