Sidharth Malhotra, Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani, Pushpa, Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2022

The Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2022 was held in Mumbai today. Among other winners, Sidharth Malhotra, Kriti Sanon, Kiara Advani, Rupali Ganguly, Dheeraj Dhoopar, Shraddha Arya, Ahan Shetty among others received awards for their contribution to cinema and work of art in the last year. While Sidharth Malhotra took away a trophy for Critics choice Best Actor for Shershaah, the film too won the best film award. His rumoured girlfriend and Shershaah co-star Kiara Advani too bagged the award for Critics Choice Best Actress award. Kriti Sanon was awarded the Best Actress award in the popular category for Mimi.

For the award night, Sidharth was seen wearing a black dapper tuxedo as he attended the ceremony held in Mumbai today. He even posted an emotional note on Instagram thanking the team for all the support and mentioned that he felt honoured to play Captain Vikram Batra in Shershah. He wrote, “It was such an honour to play the role of Capt. #VikramBatra, one of the youngest brave hearts of the Indian Army. A big thank you to Vikram Batra’s family for trusting us. Thank you to #VishnuVardhan and @karanjohar @dharmamovies @kiaraaliaadvani @apoorva1972 and @shabbirboxwalaofficial Thanking the whole cast and crew of #Shershaah. Apart from Shershaah, even Vicky Kaushal starrer Sardar Udham also won in the Best Film category whereas Ranveer Singh bagged Best Actor for 83 which is a biopic on legendary cricketer Kapil Dev.

Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa: The Rise that took everyone by storm won the Film Of The Year award at Dadasaheb Phalke awards. On the other hand, Raveena Tandon who delivered a phenomenal performance in Aranyak made her win the Best Actress award.
