Ramayana Box Office Worldwide

While Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Part 1 had a lower opening than Om Raut’s Adipurush, it seems like the Namit Malhotra and Yash-produced epic has made up the difference. Not just made up but surpassed the 2-Day collection of the previous Ramayana adaptation. As reported by Hindustan Times, Ramayana grossed Rs 127.50 crore on its opening day, a tad bit lower than the Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan-starrer’s Rs 128 crore.

On Day 2, the Nitesh Tiwari directorial saw a dip in its collection, earning a net total of Rs 48.05 crore on Friday versus a net opening of Rs 64.85 crore. Despite the day 2 domestic dip, Ramayana Part 1 has managed to zoom past Adipurush in worldwide collections. As per trade website Sacnilk, the Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash starrer collected Rs 35 crore overseas on its second day, taking its overseas gross to an impressive Rs 86.25 crore.

When added to its 2-day gross India collection of Rs 134.80 crore, the film’s worldwide gross haul amounts to Rs 221.05 crore. Adipurush, on the other hand, grossed Rs 215.78 crore worldwide in two days. Based on these numbers, the just-released epic Ramayana, is in the lead by Rs 5.72 crore. While this is a noticeable difference, we need to point out that the Nitesh Tiwari directorial had a much wider release than the Om Raut epic.

Giving the film a 4.5 star rating, Bollywood Bubble wrote in its review, “While several netizens were skeptical of Ranbir Kapoor playing Lord Rama on the big screen, the actor has done 100% justice to the character with his restrained acting and serene looks. Yash commands every scene he’s in with her powerful performance. Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey maintain their own even when they are in frame with Rama or Ravana. The VFX, the fight sequences, the music, the cinematography and the editing all work in favour of this epic.”

Another part of the review read,“Ramayana: Rise of a Legend is a must watch in theatres (IMAX in 3D will provide the best experience). It won’t disappoint. Make this Diwali a 100% better by booking tickets for yourself and your family/friends ASAP.”

The film released in theatres globally today, November 5.
