Deepika shared when she first realised about her suffering. “It happened to me in 2014 when I first realised. Initially it takes several months and my heart breaks seeing people who struggle and don’t know what they are going through. That’s why I came out in 2014 and shared my experience by just breaking it down and saying ‘this is how I was feeling for a prolong period of time’. It’s been almost 10 years since I’ve been on medication and it works everyday”, said Deepika.

Talking how Ranveer was by her side, she shared how Ranveer deals with it effortlessly. She acknowledged, “But I think the fact that he created a safe space for me to be able to be vulnerable. Not once did he say ‘”It’s okay now. Come on.”

Ranveer further insisted it took a long time for him to understand. He recalled how Deepika was copiously crying.  “When it first happened in 2014, I was shooting. She called and she said ‘I’ve had a blackout and I’ve had a fall. Can you come home?’ I cut the call and I was on my bike and when I saw her, something wasn’t right. She’s in front, she’s looking at you but she’s not all there. One day at breakfast she was sitting across me and she was just crying and there were just tears. Copious tears flowing down.”

When he asked DP what happened, she didn’t know what to say to him. “She’s like ‘I don’t know’. The reason I remember that vividly is because it was that moment where I felt completely helpless.”
