In an Instagram Story, Dosanjh urged the authorities to listen to the students’ demands and wrote:“Aj Jo hoyea Baut Maada Hoyea.. Diljit Dosanjh took to Instagram to express his concern. The singer also referred to the criticism he faced after supporting the farmers’ protest. He had previously been labelled “anti-national” and was expected to face similar accusations again. His remarks came a day after the CJP’s ‘Sansad Chalo’ march towards Parliament on July 20. It ended in clashes between protesters and police in central Delhi. Delhi Police has since registered an FIR at Connaught Place Police Station against unidentified persons in connection with the violence and alleged vandalism during the march.

About The CJP Protests

CJP has accused Delhi Police of using excessive force during the crackdown. They alleged that volunteers were beaten and dragged on roads. The party claimed Sonam Wangchuk’s wife, Gitanjali Angmo, was dragged out of a truck by her hair during the police action. Activist Sonam Wangchuk remains admitted to Safdarjung Hospital. He has continued his indefinite hunger strike, saying he would carry on after witnessing what he described as the “brutality against peacefully protesting youth.” The protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar continued on Tuesday. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke remained at the site as supporters carried on their sit-in despite overnight rain.
