About the CJP protest

Several protesters gathered at Chaityabhoomi in support of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest. The CJP organised a Sansad Chalo march from Delhi to Parliament House, which saw thousands of protesters, including veteran actors Shabana Azmi and Prakash Raj. In Mumbai, similar protests took place at Chaityabhoomi. Many demonstrators were detained by police, and some reportedly sustained injuries during police action.

Both protests occurred on the same day. The Mumbai rally was met with police detention and action. The Delhi march saw a lathi charge and tear gas shells used by security forces to disperse the crowd marching towards Parliament.

Yesterday’s Updates

The protest was held on the first day of Parliament’s Monsoon Session. The protestors demanded education reforms and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination. As the march neared Parliament, clashes erupted between protesters and security forces.

Meanwhile, a CJP delegation met with Health Minister JP Nadda on Monday. They submitted a memorandum with three key demands: the release of activist Sonam Wangchuk from the hospital, the removal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and Rs 1 crore compensation for families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide following the NEET paper leak.
