Diljit Dosanjh's San Francisco Concert Interrupted After Pro-Khalistan Protestor Storms In

A pro-Khalistan activist was detained by police after allegedly breaching security and rushing onto the stage during Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s concert in San Francisco over the weekend. Videos circulating on social media show the individual making his way onto the stage before being swiftly intercepted by security and law enforcement officers.

The incident took place during Dosanjh’s sold-out Aura World Tour at San Francisco’s Chase Centre, one of two consecutive shows at the venue. Footage shows the man being restrained and escorted away, with reports indicating he was later taken into police custody. The disruption caused a temporary halt but did not cancel the event.

This event adds to a series of recent disruptions involving pro-Khalistan activists at Dosanjh’s international concerts. In April, supporters raised slogans and waved separatist flags during a concert in Canada, while in Calgary, Dosanjh paused his performance upon noticing pro-Khalistan symbols in the crowd.

The singer has openly opposed politicisation of his concerts and has faced threats from extremist groups in the past. Experts, including Khalsa Vox, suggest that pro-Khalistan extremism has impacted the reputation of the Sikh diaspora in countries like Canada, the US, and the UK.

Diljit Dosanjh is also gaining praise for his performance in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari and Vedang Raina.
