2019 has begun and Bollywood is looking for fresh ideas and original content. Hindi film industry often faces flak for being stuck in stereotypes and is lazy with rigid and monotonous ideas. Now, Emraan Hashmi is one such actor, who always likes to push the envelope. The actor is not afraid to take risks and is a total daredevil.

Emraan Hashmi‘s next project ‘Cheat India’ deals with corruption in the education system. The film which was supposed to release on January 25 will instead release on January 18, 2019. This development could have happened to avoid the clash with Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Thackeray.

‘Thackeray’ is a biopic being made on the life and times of Shiv Sena supremo and founder late Bal Thackeray. Earlier, there were reports of Shiv Sena’s film wing members threatening other filmmakers of not releasing their films with ‘Thackeray’. Kangana Ranaut’s magnum opus ‘Manikarnika’ is also releasing on January 25, 2019.

‘Cheat India’ exposes the underbelly of our education system and how much corruption and greed has taken over. The trailer of the film shows Emraan Hashmi playing the role of a henchman, who strikes deals between the rich students and the needy, brainy ones, to fraudulently appear for others’ at examinations.

The trailer has generated great buzz and Emraan’s acting has received great appreciation. ‘Cheat India’ is directed by Soumik Sen.
