The actress said, “Woh bohot zaroori tha, pehla jaise OTT platform pe main jaise play karu, woh character kaisa ho. Woh character important tha mere liye. Ek toh main apne Umar ka character play karna chahati thi. I did not want to play younger, or whatever. (It was very important what character I play on the OTT platform for the first time, how my character is. That character was important for me. First of all, I wanted to play an age-appropriate character. I did not want to play younger, or whatever)

Bendre further added, “Iska matlab yeh nahi, main glamourous, jaise main real life mein hun normally, waise. Aise koi, specially alag, ya. Let me put it more precisely, jo main kar chuki thi, woh main kar chuki thi. (That does not mean, I am not glamourous, I am just how I am normally in real life. Just something different. Let me put it more precisely, whatever I did before, I did not want to do similar roles.)

Sonali continued, “Aur mujhe uss past mein nahi jeena tha. Toh mujhe Naya chahiye tha, aaj ka chahiye tha. Jaise main abhi hun, waise chahiye tha. Aisa role chahiye tha jo sirf looks ke baare mein naa ho. (I didn’t want to live in that past. I wanted something new, something of today. How I am today, I wanted something of that sorts. I wanted a role that was solely not based on looks.)
