Fauji director Raj Kumar Kapoor death

Colonel Raj Kumar Kapoor passed away today at a hospital. He was 87 at the time of death. The news of his death was shared by his son on Facebook. He wrote, “This is to inform you that our beloved Dad, Raj Kumar Kapoor (Colonel), has left his earthly body to go on a brand new adventure.”

Ritambhara, one of Kapoor’s daughters, told IANS, “My father died at 10.10 p.m. yesterday. He was in a hospital for some time, but his death was very sudden. He was otherwise in good health… He went quite peacefully.

A fan club took to their Twitter handle and wrote, “The creator of FAUJI serial on Doordarshan, Raj Kumar Kapoor (Colonel), has left his earthly body to go on a brand new adventure.” The cremation took place at the Lodhi Road Crematorium at 3.30 pm on Thursday.

Raj Kumar gave Shah Rukh Khan his first television break with ‘Fauji’ in 1989. He played the character of Abhimanyu in ‘Fauji’.
