Gangs Of Wasseypur' writer Zeishan Quadri FIR

Actor and writer Zeishan Quadri has been booked for allegedly cheating a producer of Rs 1. 5 crores. The producer had invested money in a  web series which Qadari was supposedly making for an OTT platform. According to ANI report, Mumbai Police has now registered an FIR against Quadri based on the complaint filed by the producer.

ANI reported that the case was filed against Quadri in Mumbai’s Amboli police station under section 420(cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust). The producer in his complaint said that he and his other friend had invested money in a web series which Quadri was making.

“A complaint has been registered under the Indian Penal Code sections 420 (cheating) and 406 (criminal breach of trust), after a co-producer, Jatin Sethi filed a police complaint against him for cheating him with his finances of Rs 1.5 crore which he and his another friend had invested in a web series which Quadri was supposedly making for one OTT Platform,” the police told ANI.

The complaint further stated that on the due date of the returning the money, Quadri failed to do so. However, he gave a few checks but they bounced. Following the producer filed a complaint against him which has now been converted into an FIR.

On the work front, Quadri has co-written and starred in Anurag Kashyap’s popular film ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. Recently he wrote the screenplay of ‘Chhalaang’ which starred Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha in the lead role.
