Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has tested positive for COVID-19. The 88-year-old Congress leader is admitted to the Trauma Centre of Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) according to news agency ANI. After having a fever, he was admitted at around 5 pm. It is to be noted that the former PM had received his two doses of Covaxin – the first on March 4 and the second on April 3.

Messages poured in for the veteran leader on Twitter. From dignitaries, celebs to common people, everyone wished for his speedy recovery.

Celebs like Hansal Mehta, Swara Bhasker and others tweeted wishing for the speedy recovery of Dr. Singh.

Swara Bhasker tweeted, Get well soon #ManmohanSingh ji.. Prayers and bests for a speedy recovery!” with folded hands. 

Hansal Mehta also sent his prayers to Manmohan Singh. “Dr. Manmohan Singh sir, prayers for your health and recovery,” he wrote.

“Get well soon Dr Manmohan Singh,” wrote Richa Chadha.

Dia Mirza tweeted, “Get well soon Dr. Manmohan Singh”.

On Sunday (April 18), Manmohan Singh had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where he suggested five ways the government can fight the Covid-19 pandemic amid the rise in Covid-19 cases.

India’s daily coronavirus figures have been rising exponentially since early March. The pandemic is getting worst in the country. Meanwhile, the government has announced on Monday the COVID-19 vaccine for all above age of 18 years from May 1.
