Ayushmann Khurrana declined 'Sultan'

Ayushmann Khurrana surprised everyone with his performance in last year’s surprise hit ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha.’ One of his performance admirers was producer Aditya Chopra who presented this romantic comedy under his banner Yash Raj Films. Certainly, Aditya who recognises good talent thought this ‘Vicky Donor’ actor to be cast for one of his banners most important project ‘Sultan.’ So why didn’t this association worked out?

According to sources, Aditya wanted Ayushmann to play the younger version of wrestler Sultan which is also a crucial part in the film. The matured version of Sultan is played by Superstar Salman Khan. This was the reason which stopped Ayushmann from signing up this project as he felt that Salman would overshadow him.

After he declined, sources say that this part is now played by ‘Kai Po Che’ actor Amit Sadh who impressed the makers with his audition.

Ever since his name has been speculated joining this project, Amit Sadh has never spoken about this saying, “I am not allowed to talk about it. They (producers) will talk about it at the right time.”

Certainly, the actor’s involvement can be understood by this statement of him in this Ali Abbas Zafar directorial.

Ayushmann Khurrana is currently busy shooting his next film titled ‘Manmarziyan’ with Bhumi Pednekar, his ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ co-star.

‘Sultan’ stars Anushka Sharma as the female lead. Randeep Hooda might play a pivotal role also in this movie. It is tentatively scheduled to release during the time of Eid.
