Guru Randhawa, Hrithik Roshan‘s ex-wife Sussanne Khan, cricketer Suresh Raina and several others were arrested after a raid at Mumbai’s Dragonfly Club. As per a report in India Today, around 34 people were arrested for violating Covid-19 norms. They were later released on bail.

Guru’s team has now released a statement saying that the violation was unintentional as the singer was not aware of the night curfew. He also promised in the statement to ‘comply with government guidelines and protocols by taking all precautionary measures in the future’.

As per Indian Express, the statement read: “Guru Randhawa, who had stepped out for dinner with close friends before returning back to Delhi the same morning, deeply regrets the unintentional incident that occurred last night. Unfortunately, he was not aware of local authorities’ decision of night curfew but instantly conformed to all rules laid out by the government officials. He promises to comply with government guidelines and protocols by taking all precautionary measures in the future. By far, he has been a law-abiding citizen and will continue to do so in the future as well.”

On Monday, the Maharashtra government declared night curfew in municipal corporation areas as a precautionary step due to the rise of coronavirus variant that has spread in the UK.

Reportedly, the celebs were booked by the Mumbai police under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.
