On Monday, Maharashtra government declared a night curfew in municipal corporation areas as a precautionary step amid growing concerns over a new coronavirus variant spreading in Britain. Following the restrictions, singer Guru Randhawa, Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan, cricketer Suresh Raina and several others were arrested after a raid at Mumbai’s Dragonfly club.

According to the India Today report, around 34 people were arrested for violating Covid-19 norms, who were later released on bail. Seven of these accused were the club’s staff members.

The same report further stated that Mumbai police booked these celebs under Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does any act which is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, likely to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life), 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of IPC and provisions of NMDA.

Dragonfly pub was accused of keeping their establishment open beyond the permissible time limit and of violating Covid-19 prevention norms. Reportedly, the police raided the club located in Sahar area near the airport around 2 am last night.

According to the new directives of the state government, night curfew will be enforced in Mumbai’s municipal corporation areas from December 22 to January 5. More than five people cannot assemble at a given place during the night curfew.
