‘Koffee with Karan 6’: Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s episode gets pulled down after outrage
This season’Koffee with Karan’ show has been very lukewarm and non-controversial. Karan Johar‘s hip and trendy show finally made news for the episode involving Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul. What Bollywood celebrities couldn’t achieve(attention) has been achieved by these cricketers but all for wrong reasons.
During the episode, Hardik Pandya made some sexist and misogynistic comments about women. The Mumbai Indians all-rounder came across as a womaniser and bragged about his sex life. The episode received a huge backlash and many on social media lambasted Rahul and Pandya.
After facing a barrage of criticism, The OTT platform has pulled down the controversial episode. Hardik Pandya though has apologised after getting issued a show cause notice by the Board of control for Cricket in India (BCCI). In fact, BCCI could suspend both these players pending an inquiry.
Hardik Pandya took to Twitter and apologised for his behaviour on the show.

As per Hindustan Times, a BCCI senior official said, “This attempt at an apology does in no way bring the issue to closure. This merely shows how lightly he (Hardik Pandya) takes the gravely serious issue of respecting women. His conduct was unacceptable.”
Currently, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are in Australia for the one-day series. The first ODI will be played tomorrow (January 12) at Sydney. Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has also condemned KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya’s behaviour. Also, everyone is waiting for Karan’s reaction to the outrage caused by that episode.
Hopefully, this whole controversy teaches Hardik Pandya a much-needed lesson about respecting women. Though, ‘Koffee with Karan 6’s tag line is ‘stop making sense’ and both KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya literally implemented it.
