As per sources, Trade analyst Komal Nahata says, “A film like ‘Heropanti’ which has newcomers like Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon — the only known face in it is Prakash Raj — has earned Rs 21 crore; this is not all that common. On the other hand, the Hindi version of ‘Kochadaiiyaan’ has earned only Rs 7 crore whereas the Tamil version of the film has done predictably well in South India.”

Sources further added that, Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, “The biggest drawback of the film is that the people didn’t get to see Rajinikanth in flesh and blood. Also, the film’s release date kept getting pushed ahead; this was not good for the film. Meanwhile, Hugh Jackman’s ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ has done a business of Rs 16.1 crore which is a good number.”

The Tamil version of Rajinikanth’s film has done well, but the Hindi version has fared poorly so far.
