priyanka chopra bmc notice

Actress Priyanka Chopra has landed in the bad books of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or BMC for illegal construction at her Oshiwara office premise. The global icon has received a legal notice for unauthorized construction in the premises of her office and another adjoining commercial premise which she has rented out to a Spa. The BMC has directed the ‘Quantico’ star to deconstruct the illegal alterations.

As reported by TOI, BMC had received five complaints from the people who visited that spa along with a municipal corporator. While conducting a check, the BMC discovered that an unauthorized mezzanine floor has been constructed at the Charisma Beauty Spa and Salon – the area that has been acquired on rent from Priyanka. The BMC also identified illegal construction at the premise in the Vastu Precinct building as well, which is used by the Chopras as their office. Apart from Priyanka, the occupant of the spa, Manik Soni, has also received a notice from the BMC.

Reports further revealed, BMC has now sent two notices to the owners and occupants of both the premises which comes under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP) act. They asked the owners to remove the illegal construction and restore the original construction which was sanctioned by BMC in 2013. They have given them a time of one month and if it doesn’t happen in the given time, they will demolish the complete structure.

A BMC official quoted to TOI, “We earlier wrote, asking them to regularise the unauthorized changes after paying the penalty and remove the other illegal changes which cannot be approved. But they didn’t bother to pay any attention after which we sent them the notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP). If they fail to reply again, we will demolish the illegal constructions at both the premises.”

In the past, actors like Anushka Sharma and Amitabh Bachchan too have received BMC notice for illegal construction.
