Janhvi Kapoor on bagging ‘Takht’: I am still in shock. It hasn’t sunk in yet

Janhvi Kapoor must be on cloud nine these days. The youngster whose debut film ‘Dhadak’, that released just a month back has already bagged her second film. And it’s none other than Karan Johar‘s magnum opus ‘Takht’.

‘Takht’, is a period drama that boasts of an ensemble cast of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor. So obviously bagging a film like this must have made Janhvi the happiest.

At the success bash of ‘Dhadak’, when asked about bagging Karan Johar’s magnum opus, an elated Janhvi said, “What can I say? I am still in shock. It hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s a big deal for me and I am so eternally grateful and feel so blessed that Karan has allowed me to be part of this journey. I am so excited and hope to do a good job… I am just overwhelmed right now.”

Well, who wouldn’t be overjoyed to star in such a big film?

KJo’s ‘Takht’ is apparently set against the backdrop of Mughal Era. If reports are to be believed, then Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Kareena Kapoor will be playing siblings in the film. And Janhvi will be paired opposite Vicky Kaushal.

Helmed by Karan Johar, the screenplay of ‘Takht’ is penned by Sumit Roy, while its dialogues are written by Hussain Haidry and Sumit Roy. The film, which is being made on the lines of SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali‘ will hit the silver screens in the year 2020.
