Jaya Bachchan is known for not following the paparazzi culture. Time and again, Jaya Bachchan has faced backlash for her behaviour towards the paps. There have been several memes on her as well. Speaking of that, Jaya recently appeared as a guest on the first episode of granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s show What The Hell Navya season two. During the conversation, Jaya addressed memes that target her.

Jaya Bachchan talks about meme creators

At the start of the episode, Navya explained the meaning of side-hustle’ and said, “It’s like a job, a 9-5 job. It could be any job. But while you do that job, you also have something on the side that you are doing.” To this, Jaya responded saying, “I do (side hustle) I provide meals for some of the people who do my memes.”

Navya added, “There is a term which has been coined after your meme, which is called ‘Jaya-ing’.” Shweta Bachchan went on to add, “When you are extra salty it’s Jaya-ing?” Jaya reacted saying, “It’s not in a very complimentary way, but it’s ok.”

Navya added, “It means like you can say what you feel like and not care. So you’re Jaya-ing.” She then asked her grandmother, “How do you feel about being a pop culture phenomenon?” Jaya responded, “I don’t mind, people making fun of you or laughing at you I don’t mind but the people doing the memes are so bad, they should do it properly.” To this, Navya said, “You should teach them.” Jaya reacted, “Why should I teach them?

On the work front, Jaya Bachchan was last seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. It also starred Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi.
