After a decade-long wait, there is progress in actress Jiah Khan‘s suicide case. According to a report in TOI, the court has decided to pronounce its judgement on the death case tomorrow, April 28. Actor Sooraj Pancholi who was dating Jiah Khan was accused of abetment to suicide in this case. The police had also arrested him after a suicide letter purportedly written by Jiah was found.

Details on Jiah Khan death case:

In 2013, Sooraj was booked under section 306 (abetment to suicide). Well, as the date on the verdict has been finalised, Pancholi’s family seemed to be positive yet anxious. The family member was quoted saying, “Going by the merits of the case, the entire family is positive. But we are also anxious about the verdict which is slated to come out on April 28 in the Special CBI Court number 52.

Since her untimely death, Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia alleged they had mistreated her daughter and that Sooraj was the culprit behind her death. However, Sooraj’s parents Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi have maintained that the Hero actor is not responsible for her death.

For the unversed, Jiah Khan died by suicide on June 3, 2013. Popularly known for her roles in Nishabd, Ghajini, and Housefull, Jiah was found hanging at her Juhu residence. The late actress’s mother Rabia had claimed that she was murdered by Pancholi.

After this, the death case was transferred to the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI). During the probe, a suicide letter was found where Jiah narrated her ordeal.

From her relationship to physical abuse to torture, massive details were revealed in the letter. The CBI officials stated that these led her to take the drastic step. And these accusations also put Sooraj under the scanner.
