Bollywood superstar John Abraham has begun shooting for director Nikkhil Advani’s film ‘Batla House’, which is based on a real encounter that took place in Delhi. In this film, John will be seen portraying the role of DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav who spearheaded the 2008 Batla House Encounter case.

The movie is based on the encounter that took place on September 19, 2008, when a seven-member Special Cell Team barged into a flat in Batla House, Jamia Nagar in search of Atif Bashir, Chief of the Indian Mujahideen. The encounter is officially known as Operation Batla House.

As the film went on floors director Nikkhil Advani took to Instagram to share the news and will be reuniting with John as a director after ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’, which released way back in 2007.

John Abraham off late has been seen in films like ‘Satyameva Jayate’, ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’, which have been high on patriotic content and this film will no doubt will only add to that list.

John had earlier shared the poster of ‘Batla House’ on Twitter and had written, ” 95 mins that took 8yrs to be resolved and changed his life forever.” The story of India’s most Decorated/Controversial Cop”.

In the said project, ‘Love Sonia’ actress Mrunal Thakur will be essaying the role of John’s wife on screen. ‘Batla House’ is slated to hit screens in 2019.
