Kalki Koechlin and her partner Guy Hershberg welcomed a baby girl on February 7 who they named Sappho. Kalki has been very active on social media throughout the entire phase of her pregnancy. Now, she has shared her journey of having the baby through water birth. Sharing the story, Kalki has also shared a picture of her going into labour with the help of her ‘Doula’.

In the post, Kalki was all praise for her ‘Doula’ and thanked her for assistance. In the picture, we see a blurry image of Kalki in a tub with water all set to deliver her baby through the natural birth process. Sharing the picture on her Instagram handle, she wrote, “Doula. I can’t experience childbirth and not talk about this word. The word comes from the ancient Greeks and meant ‘a woman’s maid’, it is now a support system of women for women during the process of pregnancy, labour and post partem care.”

Further talking about the delivery process, the actress wrote, “For me it was by far the hardest part (so it’s quite appropriate that the picture is a blur), and without Sanam’s strong hands and steady voice guiding me through the breathing I’m not sure I would’ve been able to bear it.”
