Bollywood, as an industry, is rapidly rising and invention is the name of the game. The Hindi film industry takes great pride in being modern and up to date with technology. But, there is something about history and nostalgia, which cannot be replaced. Now, the six-decade-old Kamal Amrohi Studio (also known as Kamalistan Studio) which has produced many Hindi blockbusters is going under the hammer. DB Realty and Bengaluru-based RMZ Corp RPT RMZ Corp have agreed to jointly develop the 15-acre land into the country’s largest corporate office park.

Kamalistan Studio holds a very special place in many people’s hearts. And, it will be the second studio to be converted into a commercial property after the iconic RK Studio. The late Kamal Amrohi built the studio in 1958 on a 15-acre land in the Jogeshwari area of the megapolis.

RMZ is all set to get a 55 percent stake while DB Realty and Avinash Bhosale Group, which has a stake in Mahal Pictures, will hold the rest. The project may cost a whopping Rs 21,000 crore offering over around 7 million sqft of office space.
