Kangana Ranaut has received partial relief in the Javed Akhtar defamation case. The Queen actress has been granted bail by the Andheri Magistrate court. The Manikarnika actress had moved to court after a bailable warrant was issued against her by the Mumbai court in Javed Akhtar defamation case.

Sharing an update on the defamation case, news agency ANI tweeted, “Andheri Magistrate court grants bail to Kangana Ranaut in Javed Akhtar defamation matter. She had appeared before court today and had sought cancellation of the bailable warrant issued against her. She had also applied for bail which was allowed by the court (sic).”

According to the Bar and Bench report, Kangana was granted bail after furnishing a surety of Rs 15,000 and a cash surety of Rs 20,000. The Mumbai court had issued a bailable warrant against the actress after she failed to comply with its summons.

In his complaint against the actress, the veteran lyricist had stated that her baseless comments against him on national tv have caused irreparable damage to his hard-earned reputation. Javed had also accused the Panga actress of unnecessarily dragging his name in Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death case. The lyricist had filed a criminal complaint against the actress under Sections 499 (defamation) and 500 (punishment for defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.

In other news, Kangana recently bagged the National Award for Best Actress for her performance in Manikarnika and Panga.
