Actress and Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament (MP) Jaya Bachchan slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Kishan over raising the issue of drugs nexus in Bollywood. Expressing her disappointment, Jaya said, “Just because there are some people, you can’t tarnish the image of the entire industry. I am ashamed that yesterday one of our members in Lok Sabha, who is from the film industry, spoke against it. It is a shame. Jis thali main khate hain, usmein chhed karte hain. Galat baat hain. The industry needs support and protection from the government.”

As per ANI, Jaya also said, “People in the entertainment industry are being flogged by social media. People who made their names in the industry have called it a gutter. I completely disagree. I hope that the government tells such people not to use this kind of language.”

Kangana Ranaut hit back at Jaya Bachchan asking if she would have said the same thing if in her place it was her daughter Shweta Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan. “Jaya ji would you say the same thing if in my place it was your daughter Shweta beaten, drugged and molested as a teenage, would you say the same thing if Abhieshek complained about bullying and harassment constantly and found hanging one day? Show compassion for us also,” she tweeted.

Kangana had earlier blamed the Bollywood industry for the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. She even said in one of her interviews that 99% of Bollywood consume drugs. In most of her tweets and interviews, she had exposed the movie mafia that allegedly corners outsiders.

She had earlier tweeted, “If narcotics Control Bureau enters Bullywood, many A listers will be behind bars, if blood tests are conducted many shocking revelations will happen. Hope @PMOIndia under swatchh Bharat mission cleanses the gutter called Bullywood.”

Ravi Kishan also reacted to Jaya Bachchan’s statement saying that he didn’t expect this kind of reaction from her. He told Times Now that he is shocked and hurt by her statement. Kishan said that he was requesting the government to protect the industry from the drug cartel. He also said that he was not talking about the entire industry taking drugs.
