Kangana Ranaut is all set to reunite with her ‘Queen’ co-star Rajkummar Rao for Prakash Kovelamudi’s upcoming film ‘Mental Hai Kya’. After unveiling the film’s first look poster last year, it was only recently when the film’s release date was announced. Now, the Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) has raised objections to the film’s poster and title. In a letter to CBFC chairperson Prasoon Joshi, the members of IPS have stated that the film’s title is ‘discriminative, stigmatizing, degrading, and inhuman in projecting mental disorders’.

The film’s latest poster even had the tag line, “Sanity is overrated.” Now clarifying on the film’s subject, Rangoli Chandel on behalf of her sister Kangana Ranaut took to the micro-blogging site and wrote that everyone will be proud of ‘Mental Hai Kya’. She went on to add the film will, in fact, trigger relevant talk and discussions around the stigma surrounding mental disorders.

The film’s producers Balaji Motion Pictures also released a statement which read – “We believe that ‘Mental Hai Kya’ will encourage people to embrace their individuality and distinctiveness. The film marks the coming together of some of the most talented and responsible media personalities, who in no way intend to hurt anyone’s sentiments.

Let’s wait for the film’s trailer as it might help in clearing the doubts regarding the film’s subject. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on June 21.
