Karan Johar on bollywood being beautiful place

Karan Johar has been a prominent part of industry for over 3 decades. From being trolled for weight loss to being tagged as a flagbearer of nepotism, the filmmaker has often been at the receiving end. In a recent interview, Karan spoke of dealing with fears and calls Bollywood a beautiful place while condemning those who criticize it.

Karan Johar Calls Bollywood A Beautiful Place

During a podcast with Raj Shamani, KJo was asked if he would ever consider leaving the industry. To this, he confidently replied, “No, I have no doubt… I want to die while I’m still making movies. I want to die on a set.” He reflected that while the fear of failure still lingers because it hasn’t happened yet, facing the worst can sometimes take that fear away. Recalling the loss of his father at just 21, he shared that nothing since has compared to that pain, making things like trolling and stress feel minor in comparison.

Expressing his love for the industry, Karan Johar said, “I love this industry; it has given me everything. Where else can you sing, dance, laugh, and cry, and still call it work? It’s the most beautiful place in the world, whether it’s Bollywood or the Indian film industry.” For Karan the industry has given his identity and it will remain the most cherished place no matter what others say. He added, “the people who criticise the industry, they themselves take support from it and don’t even realise that what they’re saying and doing is also part of this industry. I feel it’s the most beautiful place.”
