Karan Johar’s ‘Kalank’ was one of the most talked-about movies but for all the wrong reasons. The movie did not do well at the box office at all. The reviews were negative as well. Recently, Karan and Dharma Productions celebrated one year of ‘Kalank’ and they were brutally trolled by netizens who said there was nothing to celebrate.

The official Instagram of Dharma Productions shared the poster of Kalank celebrating the movies one year. The caption read, “A tale of eternal love and more. #1YearOfKalank”

But trolls could not let go of the bad experience that they had of watching the movie. Some questioned what is the point of celebrating, some said that they should celebrate what a failure it was.

‘Kalank’ released on 17 April 2019 and it was shot in the pre-independence India and revolved around six individuals from different families who experience the struggles of love, betrayal, revenge. This period drama was set in 1945 in Lahore during the British era. ‘Kalank’ was conceptualised by Johar and his father Yash Johar around fifteen years ago and hence was a special film for Karan.

‘Kalank’ was directed by Abhishek Varman, the movie starred Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sanjay Dutt and Kunal Kemmu.
