Kareena Kapoor Comments On Daayra Clashing With Brother-In-Law Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe; Jokes, “May The Gold Come To My House”- Watch

Earlier today, the trailer of Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime thriller Daayra was unveiled in the presence of the media in Mumbai. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film is set to release in theatres on September 18. However, it won’t be a solo release. That same Friday, Kareena’s brother-in-law, Kunal Kemmu’s film Vibe will also release.

During the trailer launch of Daayra, Kareena was asked about the impending box office clash. Read on to know her answer and whether she’s worried about it.

Kareena Kapoor On Daayra Clashing With Kunal Kemmu’s Vibe

While talking about the clash, Kareena Kapoor Khan had nothing but praise for Kunal Kemmu and his film. She said, “I think Kunal is an outstanding actor. One of the best we have in our industry. No one does comic timing like Kunal. I feel that there is place in cinemas for two great films, two wonderful films. I know the film is going to do well. It’s going to be fun, comedy and people are going to see a different side to Kunal.”

Rather than seeing the clash between Daayra and Vibe as a competition, Kareena seems happy having both releasing at the same time. She continued, “And yeah, may the gold come to my house only. Mere ghar pe hi aayega. (laughs) I am very happy ki dono picture chalegi. My brother-in-law and me. Why not? So I’m very happy and I’m very, very sure that both films are going to do very well.”

About Both Films

Directed by Meghna Gulzar, Daayra stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. The investigative thriller will see Kareena and Prithviraj essay the role of police officers on opposing sides of a controversial case. It explores crime, justice and accountability as their investigation forces them to confront the grey areas between what is legally right and what feels morally just. The ensemble cast also includes Jitendra Joshi, Kshitee Jog, Kanwaljeet Singh, Sandeep Kulkarni and Trupti Khamkar.

Written and directed by Kunal Kemmu, Vibe also stars Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir in leading role. The story revolves around two hapless friends who can barely keep their own lives on track. But everything changes when they accidentally stumble upon a terrorist plot. With no idea what they’re getting themselves into, the unlikely duo suddenly finds itself on a mission to save the nation.

Both film release in theatres on September 18.
