Kareena on son Taimur: I don’t need to announce to the world about my bond with him

It’s been 17 months since Kareena Kapoor Khan embraced motherhood. The actress, who got married to Saif Ali Khan had named her little munchkin ‘Taimur’ meaning a warrior. Bebo’s cute patootie Taimur has now become an Internet sensation courtesy his cute-chubby cheeks and dimpled chin. Probably, there’s not a day when we are not delighted with his pictures. Be it during random outings or his visit to playschool, Taimur never fails to impress us.

Apart from all this, Taimur’s mother Kareena was recently judged for her poor parenting skills. The reason for the same was Taimur’s multiple appearances with his nanny rather than her mother itself. Well, we completely disagree with this. As we have always witnessed how Kareena takes time off her choc-o-bloc schedule to be by her son’s side. And now, Bebo has finally come out to give it back to the ones, who were pinpointing her. (Also Read: Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan shoot for an ad film in London)

In an interaction with Hindustan Times, the actress gave a befitting reply when asked if there’s any guilt that she couldn’t give much time to Taimur soon after his birth. “My time with my son- because it’s not on social media or no one knows about it- does not need to be (made public). Just because I don’t post a picture of him or I don’t carry him at airports doesn’t mean I don’t spend time with my son. I believe in quality over quantity..and what my time and my bond is with my son, I don’t need to announce to the world. Are we saying that mothers who work don’t spend time with their children? It’s not like that”, said the actress adding that her priorities in life have totally changed and that she now feels highly responsible to make time for her family.

Further, when she was asked about Taimur becoming an internet sensation, the actress said, “Honestly, I’ve never held back anything. He’s practically all over the place. But he’s just 17 months old, so let him grow up and have his life. I want him to have a normal upbringing. I totally understand that it’s tough to have it in today’s time but it is okay. I’m letting him be.”

Talking about her professional front, the actress is riding high on the success of ‘Veere Di Wedding’.

Jim Sarbh’s debut Bengali film heads to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne

The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne 2018 has announced its regional films list, with critically acclaimed films due for screening at the largest film festival in the Southern Hemisphere. The regional film category spans the different regions of India with brilliant submissions from each region.

From Bengal, Aditya Vikram Sengupta’s ‘Jonaki’ has been selected to be screened at the festival this year. The film revolves around an 80-year-old woman, who reminisces about those closest to her from a time in their lives, as she searches for love in a world she is about to leave behind. The film stars the late veteran Bengali actress Lolita Chatterjee, with Jim Sarbh as her lover along with Ratnabali Bhattacharjee and Sumanto Chattopadhyay. This film also marks Jim Sarbh’s debut in Bengali cinema.

When asked about his experience, the film being selected in the festival and working with Lolita Ma’am he said, “I am very glad it has been selected and being screened at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. I used to live in Sydney when I was a kid so I am quite excited that two films that I am in are both screenings at the festival. I hope I get a chance to go.”

“For me, it wasn’t really a Bengali film. It was more of a silent experimental dreamscape film because I did not have any lines. I guess I don’t really think of films in terms of their regional location, it is more about the content and quality. I enjoyed working with Aditya, I think he is a lovely guy, Has a keen sense of the atmosphere of things and how to capture the decaying essence of things,” he added.

Jim stated further, “I really enjoyed working with Lolita Ma’am, there are scenes in the film, there are scenes that haven’t made it to the film where she really pushed herself out of her comfort zone and it was so invigorating to see somebody her age still ready to try new things, to experiment, to be a part of a film that most people would find it difficult to understand. it was an inspiration to watch her on set and to just watch her being so open to new experiences and to give herself over completely to the director’s vision. “

Under the unifying theme of Inclusion, the festival promises to showcase cinematic marvels celebrating acceptance and unity against prejudice. The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne begins on 10th August 2018 to 22nd August 2018 with an array of screenings, competitions, panel discussions and other activities planned for the Australian audience.
