Kartik Aaryan, Sreeleela’s Anurag Basu Directorial To Release On Valentine’s Day 2026- Report

According to recent media reports, Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela’s romantic saga is aiming for a Valentine’s Day 2026 release. Bollywood star and Pushpa 2 actress have been creating buzz ever since they were announced as the leads in Anurag Basu’s upcoming film. The project, initially titled Aashiqui 3, had to drop the name due to legal issues. While the stars recently completed the first schedule of filming, new updates suggest that the movie may not arrive during Diwali as originally planned.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter India, an insider revealed that Anurag Basu’s film has completed nearly 40 per cent of its shoot since starting in March. Meanwhile, Kartik Aaryan has moved on to filming Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Mera. Basu is currently focused on the post-production of Metro… In Dino.

The insider shared, “The next schedule for Aashiqui 3 is set to begin in August, and given the current timeline, it will be impossible to finish the film by September and have it ready for an October release.” Sources also disclosed that Aaryan will appear in two different looks in the film. One featuring long hair and a beard, which has already been shot. “He’s now cut his hair for Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Mera, but for Aashiqui 3, he’ll have both short and long beard looks. While he wraps that film, Basu is fully immersed in post-production for Metro… In Dino,” the insider added.

The reports indicate that the makers are eyeing a release date of February 13, 2026. The reason is that it aligns perfectly with Aashiqui 3’s romantic theme and the Valentine’s Day weekend. However, there have been rumours about a possible change in the release schedule. Sources close to the production maintain that the project is still “on track” for a Diwali release. “Everything is on as per schedule,” one production insider confirmed.

Anurag-Kartik’s Upcoming Projects

Anurag Basu is preparing for the release of Metro… In Dino, which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 4. Both Metro… In Dino and the upcoming untitled project (referred to as Tu Meri Zindagi Hai by Kartik Aaryan) will feature music composed by Basu’s longtime collaborator and friend, Pritam. Kartik will be featured in Karan Johar’s Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Mera next. He was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
