Kartik Aryan Approaches Bombay High Court Over Alleged Violation Of Personality Rights

Amid growing concerns around the digital misuse of celebrity identities, Kartik Aaryan has filed an intellectual property (IP) lawsuit in the Bombay High Court, alleging unauthorised commercial exploitation of his persona across online platforms. As per reports, the petition names several Indian and international e-commerce and social media platforms. Additionally, it also names unidentified ‘John Doe’ individuals, accusing them of using his name, image, and likeness without permission.

As outlined in the plea, the actor’s identity is allegedly being misused across merchandise, advertisements, and other digital formats, violating his publicity and privacy rights. Kartik has sought a permanent injunction to prevent the defendants from using his photos, videos, voice, or any personal attributes for commercial gain. This also includes AI-generated content and deepfakes. He has further urged that such material be removed. Moreover, such platforms are directed to reveal the identities of those responsible. The case is scheduled for a hearing on April 9. Senior advocate Birendra Saraf is expected to seek urgent relief.

Kartik Aaryan’s Professional Front

On the work front, Kartik was last seen in Sameer Vidwans’ directorial Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. The actor starred alongside Ananya Panday, Jackie Shroff, and Neena Gupta. Up next, he will be seen in Naagzilla, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, in which he is said to play an ichadhari naag. The film is produced by Karan Johar, Mahaveer Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and Sujit Jain. Additionally, Kartik is also part of Anurag Basu’s forthcoming project with Sreeleela, slated for release later this year.
