Touted as India’s first war-at-sea movie, ‘The Ghazi Attack‘ which boasts of a talented star cast looks promising from every aspect. The trailer has already been appreciated and we have now come across an interesting tidbit on the innovative title of the movie.

The movie was earlier titled as ‘Ghazi’, but the producer Karan Johar came up with the title of ‘The Ghazi Attack’. Yes, he was instrumental in coming up with the title as he felt it would provide an Indian perspective to the narrative as the movie delves into the subject of the suspicious sinking of the Pakistani submarine, PNS Ghazi during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. It’s a real life story where the Pakistani submarine, PNS Ghazi was on a mission to destroy the aircraft carrier INS Vikrant by trying to enter Indian waters. But, the Pakistani submarine goes missing instead. The Telugu version of the movie has retained the title to just ‘Ghazi’.

Karan Johar has always backed cinema with good content, be it films like ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons’. So, his suggestion for the change in title from ‘Ghazi’ to ‘The Ghazi Attack’ seems beneficial.

‘The Ghazi Attack’ is helmed by debutant Sankalp Reddy and produced by Karan Johar. The movie boasts of an ensemble cast comprising of actors like Rana Daggubati, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon, Taapsee Pannu and late actor Om Puri. The movie will hit the big screen on February 17, 2017.
