Lok Sabha Election 2019: Sunny Deol joins BJP; says, “Youth needs leaders like Narendra Modi”

Amid speculations, actor Sunny Deol met BJP president Amit Shah last week. And now Sunny Deol is likely to contest the Lok Sabha Election Gurdaspur Parliamentary Constituency in Punjab, check out the details inside.

The 62-year-old actor, Sunny Deol joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal. Reportedly, BJP will give a ticket to Sunny Deol to contest the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. Reports also claim that he is gearing up to contest from Gurdaspur. However, official announcements have not been done yet.

Sunny Deol said after joining BJP, “Like my father Dharmendra associated himself with Vajpayeeji, I am associating with Modiji. He has done a lot for the country and he can take us forward. The country needs leaders like him. PM Modi has done a lot for the country and I wish that he remains the prime minister for another five years. Our youth needs people like Modiji’. 

Welcoming the actor turned politician, defense minister Nirmala Sitharam welcomed Sunny Deol on board with these words, “I am pleased to welcome a firebrand actor, popular, very committed to his art, young brave artist Sunny Deol to the BJP.”

Speculations started making the rounds in the headlines last week, as BJP president Amit Shah met Sunny Deol in Pune. However, BJP is yet to officially announce their three-seat candidates for Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar.
