On its second day, the film showed impressive growth, with a 134.8% increase compared to its opening day. According to Sacnilk, Batwara 1947 earned Rs 13.50 crore across 8,071 shows in India on Saturday, August 15. The film opened at Rs 5.75 crore net in India. The overall occupancy on Day 2 was around 35.37%, with the highest footfalls during evening shows, indicating decent audience turnout.

About The Film

In Batwara 1947, Sunny Deol plays a Muslim man who migrates to Pakistan during Partition. He discovers a Hindu woman, played by Shabana Azmi, living upstairs in his home, who refuses to leave. He takes it upon himself to protect her while also safeguarding his family amidst the chaos. The film also marks Preity Zinta’s return to the big screen after nearly a decade.

Additionally, it features the first on-screen collaboration between Sunny Deol and his son, Karan Deol, who plays his son. The cast includes Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare, and Kanikka Kapur.
