Netflix India is set to expand its diverse content lineup with the renewal of its acclaimed anthology series, “Lust Stories,” for a third season. According to reports, this new instalment will continue to explore themes of female sexuality through a range of thought-provoking narratives.

Lust Stories 3 To Be Helmed By Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao And Shakun Batra

As reported by PeepingMoon.com, the upcoming season will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala under RSVP Movies and Ashi Dua through Flying Unicorn Entertainment. While directors have yet to be confirmed, it is rumoured that well-regarded filmmakers such as Vikramaditya Motwane (Jubilee, Black Warrant), Kiran Rao (Dhobi Ghat, Laapataa Ladies), and Shakun Batra (Kapoor & Sons, Gehraiyaan) are in advanced talks to helm the segments.

The new season is also anticipated to feature a strong ensemble cast. It includes some of Bollywood’s leading talents, although casting details are still under wraps. Like its predecessors, Lust Stories 3 will consist of four unique and compelling narratives. Each of these will address themes of love, lust, power, and social status.

Staying true to the franchise’s essence, this instalment aims to push creative boundaries by authentically depicting women who embrace their desires without apology, all while navigating the complexities of their emotional lives. Filming is expected to kick off in the first half of the year, with a Netflix premiere anticipated for early next year.

About The Lust Stories Franchise

The “Lust Stories” franchise is renowned for its bold examination of modern relationships through the lens of Indian women. It tackles subjects from strained marriages to intricate sexual dynamics. The inaugural season, released in 2018, was directed by Anurag Kashyap, Karan Johar, Zoya Akhtar, and Dibakar Banerjee. It featured an ensemble cast of Vicky Kaushal, Radhika Apte and Bhumi Pednekar. Also present were Kiara Advani, Manisha Koirala, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sanjay Kapoor.

The second season debuted five years later in 2023. It showcased actors such as Kajol, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma and Mrunal Thakur. Also present were Tillotama Shome, Neena Gupta, and Amruta Subhash. It was directed by R. Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh, and Amit Sharma.
