Dear Maya

Actress Manisha Koirala is making a comeback to films after a long time and her comeback vehicle ‘Dear Maya’ has a very unique concept. The actress plays the role of a recluse woman named Maya Devi who has locked herself in an abandoned bungalow for 20 years as she never found love. Through the trailer and the song of this film we realise that Maya Devi’s character undergoes a change when two teenage girls embark on a mission to bring happiness in her life by means of writing fake love letters to her in the name of a man who she had met for a brief period 20 years back. We then see a happy Maya uncaging birds and setting herself free. We have seen the shot where she is surrounded by birds and not even for a second we realised that the birds petrified Manisha. But in reality, the actress is damn scared of birds. Well yes, we have an interesting trivia that in real life, Manisha is scared of birds and dogs. While shooting for the movie, she would be hesitant to fly the birds or even hold them in her hands. The director Sunaina Bhatnagar had to help her out as she placed the birds in Manisha’s hands to drive away her fear. It was only then that Manisha got some confidence and did the scene.
