Manoj Bajpayee remembers his The Family Man 2 co-star Asif Basra: You are missed so badly by the entire team

Last year actor Asif Basra left the industry in shock as he died by suicide in Dharamshala. He was found hanging in a private complex in Dharamshala. Recently, the trailer of The Family Man 2 released and we got a glimpse of Basra in the trailer. He is seen playing the character of a marriage counselor for Srikant (Manoj Bajpayee) and his wife (Priyamani). He is seen in the latter half of the trailer where he was seen counseling the couple and the scene was quite funny.

On Thursday, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, the makers of The Family Man series took to their Instagram handle to remember Asif Basra. They wrote that losing him to suicide has left them heartbroken.

Sharing a pic of the late actor from that particular scene, Raj and DK wrote, “Many of us have been affected by the loss of a loved one in the last year. Asif Basra shot with us for Season 2. He was brilliant! And losing him to suicide has left us heartbroken! May your soul find peace and comfort wherever you are… Asif Basra!”.

Last year, while mourning the death of Asif Basra, the filmmaker duo wrote, “Heartbreaking to lose @itsasifbasra . Such a terrific actor! Finally got a chance to work with him on The Family Man Season 2. He is so hilarious in it! Can’t imagine what he must have gone through to take such a tragic step. May he rest in peace! Will cherish the time we worked together”.

Coming back to The Family Man 2, the trailer has received an overwhelming response. Apart from Manoj and Priyamani, it also stars Samantha Akkineni, Sharad Kelkar, and Sharib Hashmi among others. The Family Man Season 2 will premiere on June 4 on Amazon Prime Video.
