As The Ba***ds of Bollywood completes one year, Mona Singh looks back at her experience of being part of Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, a series that brought together satire, Bollywood nostalgia, meta humour and a vibrant ensemble cast. Released on Netflix on September 18, 2025, the series featured Mona Singh alongside Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba and Anya Singh, among others. Mona, who played Neeta Singh in the series, added her own distinct presence to the show, with her performance becoming an integral part of its ensemble
Mona Singh On Shooting Ba*ds of Bollywood, Working With Aryan Khan
Reflecting on whether she knew the show would become such a huge hit, Mona reveals that the team of Ba***ds could sense its potential right from the sets. Speaking about the script, the humour and her experience of shooting the show, she said, “Of course. See, I knew that it was going to be a kick-ass show. I knew it. While we were shooting, we knew it was going to be a big hit. Because of the jokes, the script, everything was so meta, so good that we could not stop laughing while shooting. When I was shooting the climax, I was like, ‘No, this dance is not happening. How am I supposed to do this dance?’ But we did it. It was a lot of fun.”
Talking about working with Aryan Khan, Mona continued, “And Aryan is the youngest director I have worked with. We learned and experienced so much together on the set. It was beautiful.”
A year later, Mona’s memories capture the energy and camaraderie that went into making the series. Her confidence in the show even before its release reflects the creative experience she shared with the team, while her recollection of working with Aryan Khan highlights the collaborative spirit on set. With discussions around a possible second season reportedly underway between Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix, audiences will now be eager to see whether Mona Singh returns to the world of The Ba***ds of Bollywood.
